Compare Integrations
The python library created and maintained for Teslemetry is also used by multiple other Home Assistant integrations that provide access to Tesla's Fleet API. This means you have a choice in which service works best for you.
Teslemetry
Teslemetry was designed to be the best service for Home Assistant first and foremost. Our goal is to be cheaper than Tessie, but better than self-hosting or using the free option.
- Pro: Cheaper that most paid alternatives
- Pro: Designed specifically for Home Assistant
- Pro: Customizable Tesla Fleet Telemetry
- Subjective: Doesn't store your data
- Con: Not free
- Con: Smaller scale

Teslemetry HACS
Teslemetry also has a HACS version of the integration which gets new features before they are added to Home Assistant core. Its recommended only for power users who are comfortable with occasional bugs.
- Pro: Fleet Telemetry in Home Assistant
- Pro: Fixes and new features can be released immediately
- Con: Less stable

Tessie
The Tessie integration for Home Assistant is ideal if you already had a Tessie subscription before the price rise. Tessie provides an excellent app and additional features on their website, in addition to a custom API and full Fleet API proxy which is used by the Home Assistant integration. The Tessie integration lacks Fleet Telemetry support, but has all the Fleet API functionality.
- Pro: Excellent website and mobile apps
- Pro: Manages rate limits and can serve data from cache
- Pro: Large service with lots of scale
- Subjective: Stores your data
- Con: Fleet Telemetry is not customizable
- Con: Very expensive for new users

Tesla Fleet
In mid 2024 Tesla introduced the ability for open source applications to authenticate to the Tesla Fleet API, so another integration was created to allow free and self-hosted access to the Tesla Fleet API from Home Assistant. This integration is restricted to the "Discovery" tier, which can only make 200 vehicle_data requests per day and 50 commands.
- Pro: Free
- Pro: Self-hosted
- Con: Restrictive rate limits
- Con: No command signing (yet)
- Con: Complex process to install virtual key
