Teslemetry Wrapped 2025

Another awesome year for Teslemetry

Another year down, and Teslemetry is now two years old! As a father of two young boys, I can tell you that two-year-olds can be rough—so it might be an interesting year as we learn new things and expand our capabilities.

More than just a Home Assistant integration

There has always been a small but dedicated group of customers who leverage the Teslemetry platform directly to build their own awesome capabilities. I'm committed to continuing to support these developers by maintaining the Tesla Fleet API Python library, Teslemetry Stream Python library, and the new Teslemetry TypeScript SDK.

For everyone else, Teslemetry is continuing to expand into other platforms. With the TypeScript SDK now available, I've released a NodeRed integration and Homey app, with n8n coming next.

For those in the US, Teslemetry's long-standing integration with Tint.ai has continued to help Turo vehicle owners. I've enhanced this experience with the Rental Management Dashboard. Meanwhile, Amber customers in Australia can synchronize wholesale electricity prices to their Powerwall using the Amber tool.

It's also been great to see Teslemetry powering other open-source projects like TeslaSync.

Seamless authentication

Starting with Homey and Home Assistant 2026.1, Teslemetry no longer requires you to manually create access tokens for authentication. Instead, leveraging OAuth2 support, you can directly connect these platforms to Teslemetry. The console displays all connected applications and lets you easily disconnect them when needed. This means most users may never need to create an access token again.

By the numbers

Teslemetry now serves 2,044 customers with 1,904 vehicles and 1,366 energy sites. Each day we make approximately 7.5 million API calls to Tesla and receive 4.1 million real-time data updates from vehicles. Over the last 90 days, Teslemetry has maintained a 99.998% uptime.

What's next?

Finishing the Homey integration and officially joining the "Works with Homey" program is the top priority for 2026. But I haven't forgotten about Home Assistant—I've also started the process of getting the integration to platinum quality and have numerous pull requests still open.

I've also had a website redesign in the works for over half a year now, but as I discussed in Website 2.5, the enormous scope of this change was preventing new features from being released. My goal is to finish this work in 2026 and provide a more accessible and modern user experience.

As always, I'll be keeping an eye on what Tesla adds to the Fleet API. As we saw with the new self-driving fields added in late 2025, any new additions to the Fleet API or Fleet Telemetry will be implemented with priority.

Happy New Year, and thank you for being part of the Teslemetry journey!
